My name is AJay Bogenschutz, and I'm reaching out during a very difficult time for my family as we navigate my father’s medical expenses. A couple of months ago, my father, Francis Bogenschutz, received the heartbreaking diagnosis of Stage 4 colon cancer that has spread to his liver. He asked us to hold off on sharing this news until after some key appointments, as he didn’t want to worry everyone too soon.

The emotional toll on our family has been overwhelming. While my father’s insurance from his employer covers some costs, there are still many expenses that we’re struggling to manage. He had surgery on April 3, 2025, to remove the colon cancer, and we’re relieved to hear that the procedure was successful and that he is now cancer-free in that area.

However, we now need to focus on the fight against the liver cancer. The doctor plans to begin chemotherapy treatments to shrink the tumors before he can schedule surgery. We’ve started to receive medical bills and are in the process of dealing with the insurance company, which has added to the stress.
