Donate to Fix Car and Fight Insurance Injustice

On December 24th, 2024, my mother was the victim of a hit-and-run accident. At the time, she had taken the car out as a surprise gift for my brother to celebrate his graduation. What was meant to be a joyful and proud moment for our family quickly turned into an incredibly stressful and painful experience.

My mother immediately reported the accident to the California Highway Patrol (CHP) and her insurance company, fully believing that everything would be properly handled. Unfortunately, that has not been the case. Despite paying for full coverage insurance, my mother was told that they would not cover the damages or pay off the car. Since the accident, she has continued to pay both the car and the insurance, even though she has received no help.

To make matters worse, the insurance company has made the entire process extremely difficult, treating my mother as if she were being dishonest, despite the fact that she has followed every step correctly and in good faith. She continues to uphold her side of the contract while being met with resistance and a lack of accountability.

Adding to the frustration, when we requested footage of the accident from CHP, we were denied access, making it even harder for my mother to prove what truly happened. On top of that, when we finally received the car back after the accident, we discovered that it had even more damage than it originally had at the scene. (we believe someone damaged the car headlights, damaged the back left wheel, and the back of the car). Instead of helping, the situation only worsened, leaving my mother with an even greater burden.

Because of the insurance company’s refusal to fulfill their obligations and the way they have mistreated my mother, we are now preparing to take legal action and sue the insurance company for mishandling the case and acting in bad faith.

In the meantime, my mother has decided to start repairing the car, as it is still meant to be a graduation gift for my brother. The funds and donations we receive will go directly toward covering the cost of these repairs.
