Unknown to me, a bacteria-laden mosquito or tick recently bit me, and it deposited these muscle-eating antigens into my body through my lower left leg.

Itchy patches of skin on my left leg then turned to dime-and-quarter-sized wounds that oozed with both blood and pus. Soon, the wounds spread out.

At my niece's recommendation, I agreed to be admitted for foot Surgery at the Manila Doctors Hospital in Ermita, Manila. Upon arrival at the ER/Admitting Office just before midnight on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, I presented to the lady behind the counter these three IDs, in order:

While #2 and #3 IDs were acceptable as forms of payment at MDH, #1 was rejected, meaning I am wholly responsible for the total Balance Due once the FINAL BILL, less applicable deductions, had been presented to me. OUCH!
