I’m Maria and I run a rescue solo in Chania, on the Greek island of Crete. It’s a really awful place for stray cats sadly and there is very little help for them.

Please help me to feed the cats I care for and pay for their vet bills. I mostly take in cats with special needs, who no one else wants: cats with chronic long term health issues like Feline Leukemia Virus and cats with disabilities. I also take in cats that would otherwise be put to sleep or simply die because they require emergency vet care - such as cats that have been hit by vehicles. I often take in cats who are already hospitalised at the vets and I agree to take on their vet bills and any post-op care.

Your help is so greatly appreciated and is life changing for these cats. It means I can pay for their food, vet, litter and other bills. Without the help of public donations from wonderful people like you, my rescue simply doesn’t exist.

I also take on cats for tourists who need foster space for cats they want to adopt, I help pay for neutering and other vet care for fellow rescuers and I treat and feed cats on the street that I simply cannot take in, but which I can still support.
