This Thanksgiving hits different.

With the government shutdown affecting families across the country — from federal workers to parents relying on assistance programs — many are facing financial strain right before the holidays.

I’m Nicslenses, a local photographer and community advocate based in Brooklyn, NY. Every year, I use my platform to give back, and this year, I’m stepping it up with the Government Shutdown Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway — a mission to make sure no family in our community goes without a meal this holiday season.

Because of the shutdown, many are missing paychecks, losing access to vital resources, or struggling just to make ends meet. So instead of waiting for help to come, we’re creating it — together.

Our Goal: The goal is simple. Provide 100 (or more) free turkeys to families in need across Brooklyn.

Each turkey costs around $25, and every dollar raised will go directly toward purchasing, storing, and distributing turkeys before Thanksgiving.

Your donation makes an immediate impact:

$25 = 1 family fed

$50 = 2 families fed

$100+ = Sponsor level — includes a personal thank-you and recognition for your support
