My name is John from NYC and I’m helping Ez Reida raise funds for him and his mother & sister to start a new life after Gaza.
Ez has lost his father and brother to the occupation and is one of countless people who need help but I plead you to read the story of this kind soul.
I will share below his words, as it will mean so much more than anything I can paraphrase:
From Ez (July 20th, 2025):
”I live in Al Mawasi after being displaced several times. My family consists of 7 people. My father and brother were martyred… I, my other brother, my two sisters, and my mother remained.
I need that to save me and my family the expenses of this difficult life and I want to travel to change our psyche and our situation if the war stops soon as they say in the news I desperately need it I really hope it works as it did with many here.
We are so tired, so many people can't find the [food] to eat, we can't stand on our feet and fall to the ground from the lack of food. We want to travel when the war ends”
In the last three years of genocide, his home was destroyed, like many others.
Ez’s father worked hard to build this home and the life his family was able to enjoy. Ez told me:
”Everything is gone, and my father's hard work is gone. He worked all his life to build these two houses for us and spent all his money, more than 40 thousand dollars. We only lived in our new house for two years, and before all of this, they killed my father and brother.
Look how beautiful the house was, but we did not rejoice in it much, and the criminals destroyed it…
Our new home was very beautiful. My dad put all the hard work he worked in his whole life to live a beautiful life. May God have mercy on him. He was kind to us.
We used to decorate our house during the holidays and during Ramadan every year with these beautiful lights because we love life.“

I have been speaking with Ez now for the better part of the last 9 months. He updates me on his situation daily; accounts of not eating for three days at a time, the pain of hunger, the exhaustion of moving from place to place by the direct order of an occupational force every two weeks.
Ez is a good person and he and his family deserve a better life. Please consider donating so they can use your help to eat, get treatment and to, most importantly, be able to start a new life when this is all over.
People like Ez lived normal lives before this. They celebrated with family, cooked for one another, went to the movies. They are no different from yourself. Please put yourself in their shoes. The time for speaking is well past, the time for action is now.
100% of the proceeds will go to Ez and his family. Thank you for reading.
