Help Exxavier fund his education

Exxavier Shealy's journey from the small southern town of Albany, GA, to the prestigious University of North Carolina School of the Arts (UNCSA) is nothing short of inspirational. Coming from a humble background, Exxavier entered the world of acting with no prior experience and immersed himself in preparation for life as an actor. His prior passions were academic as well as hunting, outdoorsmanship, motorcycling, fishing and sports. And yet he was drawn to the arts.

The dedication and sacrifices to learning the craft of acting were immense. He took off work and traveled 3 hours weekly each way for private training. His training included classical interpretation, scene analysis, touches of method acting, stage presence, and onscreen acting techniques… it was a lot. He went from a beginning non trained actor to a competitor with 1800 other students for a spot at one of the Nation’s finest schools.

He called me after his audition and shared how much he loved UNCSA. He talked about the audition process, the comfortable rural setting, and the impassioned and incredible faculty. We were both shocked when he was not initially chosen for North Carolina School of the Arts. With the news of course we were disappointed but being the winner that he is he set new goals and continued training for his next opportunity.

Neither one of us knew that he was on a very short list of alternates, the call he received less than a week ago was the answer to all of his work and dreams. But…it didn’t take into consideration the huge financial obligations that this would involve. If he had been accepted three months ago he would have applied and I’m sure received substantial funding for his school and board.

So I am reaching out to you to help this star of the future reach the pinnacle of success. In my 15 years of teaching at Evolv Atlanta Acting Studio this is the first time that I’ve ever reached out to ask for your help. Every little bit will make a difference.
