Hello, my name is Evan, and I'm reaching out with a heavy but hopeful heart. I'm a single mom to two exceptional children, ages 16 and 10, a disabled veteran, and a college student working hard to build a better future for my family.

Over the past year, our lives have been deeply impacted by escalating health challenges and financial strain. I've been battling multiple medical conditions — including an autoimmune disorder (Hashimoto's), post-concussion syndrome, and being neurodivergent. I require weekly therapy, regular psychiatric care, and medications, with out-of-pocket medical costs of hundreds of dollars a month. Recent complications with my kidneys, liver, gallbladder, and hormone balance have made daily tasks, schoolwork, and caring for my kids difficult.

At the same time, my 16-year-old daughter has suffered from severe, ongoing stomach pain for the past six years. Despite countless visits to doctors, we have yet to find lasting answers. I want to take her to a pediatric functional medicine specialist — something that could finally give her relief — but it comes with its monthly expenses and additional diagnostic and treatment costs.

Unfortunately, due to my disabilities, I am currently unable to work and rely on veteran educational benefits while attending school part-time. As my income has decreased and medical expenses have increased, I've struggled to keep up with essential bills, groceries, and healthcare needs. I've sometimes had to make impossible choices between buying food, paying for medical care, or covering rent and utilities.

To make matters more urgent, my car — which I need to drive two hours round-trip to school several days a week — now has two flat tires, and the remaining ones are worn beyond repair. Without new tires, I fear I won't be able to continue my classes this fall.
