Evan and Marie's recovery journey
Donation protected
I know times are tough for everyone, but we could really use some extra help from our friends. It's hard to do this and ask for help!
Both Evan and I are unemployed. He is just getting over a severe case of osteomyelitis and will be having surgery soon. I have had 5 surgeries in 15 months. One from a heart attack, one for my bladder & kidneys, and three GI surgeries removing most of my small intestines and also placing a feeding tube directly into my intestines, bypassing my stomach. I'm still having complications from these surgeries and will have another GI surgery next month. I have also had several hospitalizations this year for sepsis, malnutrition, pulmonary embolism, and other complications due to surgery and health issues.
I have special food I use with a pump through my feeding tube. I can't eat much by mouth. When I do, I'm either in severe pain or I can't keep it down. The food I can eat is costly. I've had some very generous friends help me get these foods in the past, and it is much appreciated! I'm looking at purchasing a Ninja Creami to make my own food as much as I can.
The walker I am using was very used when it was given to me. The brakes no longer work, and it's just about completely worn out. The new one I am looking at purchasing also doubles as a wheelchair with footrests and hand brakes. I also need a special cushion for the walker to give me the added support for the injury to my back and hips.
I need a new backpack for my Inogen oxygen machine because mine is worn out and the straps are coming apart. They are specially made just for it with ventilation and a pocket for my rescue inhaler. I also need a portable nebulizer for when I am not at home.
I also need various medical supplies that insurance won't cover like 4x4 12-layer gauze, self-adhesive bandage rolls (Coban), syringes, and countless other items. Also, non-medical stuff like gas, phone bill, internet, car insurance, car repairs, and so much more.
If you'd like a direct link to an item, I can send it to you if you don't want to donate money. Anything helps and is greatly appreciated!
