Hello, my name is Crystal, and I am reaching out on behalf of my mother Eva Briggs.

My mother has been battling diabetes and the ravishes of this debilitating disease for a very long time, but her health over the past two years has quickly declined, with her requiring dialysis, multiple hospitalizations, various treatments and so many doctor appointments. Most recently, the horrific decision had to be made for her to undergo the amputation of one of her lower limbs to save her life. My mother has always been a strong, independent and hard-working woman, one that raised me and my brother and ran our household without fail. But now her health is failing her, and this disease has forced her into retirement, she is on a fixed income without the benefits of adequate health coverage. I have become the sole caretaker of my mother, but I am a single mother, working full-time, and our resources have been exhausted.

Due to my mother’s current medical condition as an amputee, she will require 24-hour care to manage her medical/physical needs, and as importantly her mental health, to cope with the recent loss of her limb. The immediate amount that is needed is $15,000 to get her care team started and in place, with the total goal that we need to reach for long term care being an estimated $75,000.

I have taken this first step in creating this account to secure my mother’s safety, in the hope that anyone reading this will have empathy and compassion and reach out to help us in this very desperate time of need. Any gifted amount will be a huge blessing and one that is immensely appreciated by our family.
