Donate to Ethan Yip's Journey to World Wushu Stage

Hello, my name is Ethan Yip. I am going to be an eighth grader this year, I enjoy playing cello and practicing martial arts. I am a student of Sitan Tai Chi and Martial Arts and my goal is to spread wushu as not just a cultural tradition, but as a popular sport worldwide.
Now you're probably wondering why should you donate to me. I have been training at my martial arts school since I was 7 years old. This year I competed in the US team trial in San Jose, CA. I was chosen to be one of the two male athletes in my age group to represent the United States at the World Junior Wushu Championships in Brunei in September.
The World Junior Wushu Championships is seen as one of the highest levels of competition in wushu. I feel proud to have the opportunity to compete among the best athletes. Even though wushu has thousands of years of history in China, it is still a new sport to the rest of the world. To most people, their knowledge of the sport goes as far as the Bruce Lee, Jackie Chen and Jet Li movies.
After practicing wushu for a good amount of time I know that it is more than a "dance" or performance, it is an exciting, fast paced, and competitive sport. It takes a lot of acrobatic skills, stregnth, and disipline. For me this is why it's fun. I like things that are challenging and I am always excited to learn and get better. My #1 fans are my family members. They're always supportive in my competitions and love for the sport.
I know that competing internationally can be costly, and I want to do what I can to help cover these expenses. There are various ways you can support me, first you can make a donation, any amount would be greatly appreciated. Additionally you can follow me on instagram/spread my story(@ethan.yip24). Lastly you can spread awareness about wushu!
Thank you for reading my story, and I hope you donate to me so I can achieve my goal of representing the United States in Brunei.
