On March 18, 2025, my brother Erick was rushed to the hospital with alarming symptoms. Doctors discovered a large tumor on his chest and swollen lymph nodes on his neck. They were intensely painful. Shortly after, he was diagnosed with lymphoma, a cancer of the lymphatic system. It is advanced and is continuing to spread quickly throughout his body. It was devastating news, but if there’s one thing about Erick, it’s that he stays optimistic.

Even now, as he battles extreme fatigue, he still finds a way to crack jokes and make us laugh. He's a funny, kind-hearted 18-year-old who loves kickboxing, video games, and spending time with family. He was excited to start his first job at Amazon, but was cut short by this diagnosis. He has his whole life ahead of him, and we’re determined to help him through this.

Our family is small, only composed of Erick, his two older sisters, his younger brother, and his single mother. Cancer is infamous for its price of treatment.
