Like many, Erica began taking semaglutide in mid-2024. Unbeknownst to Erica, she was allergic to the medication and started to develop severe symptoms that were largely dismissed by her doctors as known side effects of the medication. Erica's symptoms eventually became so severe that her organs were affected, and she experienced the early symptoms of organ failure. Erica was finally diagnosed with Hepatic Encephalopathy (which occurs when a damaged liver fails to filter toxins from the blood, allowing them to reach the brain and causing symptoms like confusion, disorientation, and altered mental state).

Erica has been hospitalized since October 2024. She has been unable to work, has two children, and a growing list of medical bills. She is currently living full-time at a physical therapy center fighting her way back to health. Erica fights every day to get back to life, and importantly, back to work. BUT, she needs our help.
