- Support for Eric Houston’s ALS Journey — Help Us Raise $50,000
- Our beloved husband, father, friend, and community member Eric Houston is facing one of the toughest battles of his life. Eric has been diagnosed with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) — a progressive neurological disease that affects the brain and spinal cord. Over time, ALS weakens the muscles needed for speaking, walking, swallowing, and even breathing. For Eric, this has meant losing much of his ability to walk and speak, making everyday tasks extremely challenging. Despite these challenges, Eric continues to fight with strength, humor, and grace. But the reality is: he needs help, and so does his family.
- Why We’re Asking for Support To maintain dignity, mobility, and safety in his own home, Eric urgently needs:
- Home construction modifications, including widening spaces and renovating the bathroom so his wheelchair can roll directly into the shower
- A stair lift to help him safely reach the upstairs area of the home
- Additional support for his wife, Corie Ann, who has now taken on the full role of caregiver while balancing the emotional and physical weight of this responsibility
- Corie Ann has been by Eric’s side every step of the way—advocating, caregiving, and ensuring he has everything he needs. But caring for a loved one with ALS is emotionally, physically, and financially overwhelming. The cost of home modifications, equipment, and daily care needs is more than the family can manage alone.
