Hello! My name is Erianna Solchaga Aguila and I'm an aspiring actress studying Theater Arts. Alongside being in a short student film, I've recently been cast in a play called Our Town which will be performed at the Hammer Theater in early May. I need your support to fund vital steps in my acting journey!
I recently got back from a summer month-long acting intensive with Shakespeare & Company's renowned Center for Acting Training in Lennox, Massachusetts!
Along with that, I’ve been accepted to study abroad in the fall at the University of Greenwich in London.
In addition to training with the Shakespeare Company, I am determined to further my education by studying abroad in London. The city contains such rich acting history, as it was where William Shakespeare lived and wrote his timeless plays and sonnets. In general, London is one of the greatest hubs for theater in the world and a priceless educational experience. As a current Theater Arts major and former Animation & Illustration major, I'm drawn to the way art and theater are done in other countries, and I truly love learning. Just thinking about what all the amazing lecturers could teach me gets me super excited! The University of Greenwich is located in the heart of London and Kent, and offers unique classes that are vital for my career goals as an actress. Some extraordinary classes include Literature of the Gothic, Londonopolis: Material Lives in a Capital City, and Contemporary Approaches to Shakespeare. I believe that it would be extremely beneficial to my education to take more worldly classes. I like to draw while observing new cultures, as I pick up mannerisms from others that I can incorporate into characters when acting.

I've been applying to any scholarships I can find, and FAFSA will cover a portion of the tuition. However, the total estimated cost for the semester is $12,000. This includes tuition, transportation, housing, meals, etc. I'm hoping that financial aid will cover most of that, but I will need some help.
For me, the experiences are worth the price. I've loved theater all my life, and I've been going to shows with my grandmother (who introduced me to theater) since I was a little girl. Ever since the first time I experienced "Music of the Night" from Phantom of the Opera, I knew that theater and acting were going to be great passions of mine. Here are the links to Shakespeare & Co.'s website and the SJSU Study Abroad Portal if you're interested to learn more about the programs: Summer Shakespeare Intensive & Exchange - University of Greenwich
I don't expect anyone to fully pay for either of these things, or to drop $1,000. Any amount at all, big or small, will help. Unfortunately, students studying abroad are not eligible for Federal Aid so I have to use Private Loans (which I’ve been trying to avoid).
I need your help to make my dream come true. These experiences will help me become a well-rounded individual, and will fill in the gap of my education to give me a BFA experience instead of BA. Your help allows me to take the next step to becoming a successful actor—hopefully one of the greats.
