Help a Lifelong Servant of Sobriety Get the Care He Deserves
Hello friends, family, and compassionate supporters,
My name is Hillary Carr, and I’m reaching out on behalf of my father, Ron Oleson, who now needs the very kind of help he spent his life giving to others.
For over 20 years, my dad dedicated his life to helping people find sobriety, purpose, and faith. He led countless AA groups—not only in the community, but also inside adult and juvenile detention centers. He brought hope to those society often overlooks, offering them a path forward grounded in recovery, humility, and service.
My dad didn’t just talk about sobriety—he lived it. He cherished his relationship with God, his sobriety, and his mission to lift others out of despair. If you’ve ever met him, you know the light he carried. Whether it was a ride to a meeting, a phone call at midnight, or simply sitting with someone in their darkest hour, my dad was there.
Now he’s facing a challenge he can’t overcome alone.
Due to brain damage and related health issues, my dad urgently needs to be placed in a memory care facility—somewhere safe, compassionate, and structured to support his needs with dignity. Unfortunately, the costs are more than our family can manage alone.
We are seeking to raise $270,000 to help cover:
Initial placement fees
Monthly care expenses
Medical and daily living needs
Any additional resources that support his well-being and quality of life
He spent his life giving freely without ever expecting anything in return. Now it’s our turn to support him with that same selflessness.
If my dad has ever touched your life or inspired you—or if his story moves you—we would be deeply grateful for your donation of any amount. Even just sharing this page helps.
Thank you for helping a man who helped so many.
With love and gratitude,
Hillary Carr, and families Oleson, Garcia & Houdak
