Hi, I'm Renee and I rescued Persephone in 2018. I adopted her from my local shelter. She was an emaciated stray before that and she's been my constant companion ever since.

She was recently diagnosed with a minor heart murmer. She needs to see a specialist before we decide how to treat it. It should be very manageable with medication. I had a Chihuahua that lived until 18 with a heart murmer so her prognosis is very good.

The only problem is the specialist is $650 which I cannot afford. I do not qualify for care credit. My car has broken down three times last month which not only cost a lot but isn't reliable enough for door dash or Uber. I'm behind on other bills as well.
