IHi, my name is Julia. I’m 34 years old. I’m 10 weeks postop from lumbar spine fusion and decompression of seven levels, and they had to put metal cages around that. I’m three weeks postop from thoracic spine surgery, and I fell and re-hurt my back three days ago. I can’t feel anything from my chest and arms down to my feet. I can’t use my legs at all. I can’t wiggle my toes. I can’t move my legs by myself, I can’t stand and walk, and I’m urinating all over myself.
I’ve been in the ICU for three days, and we are trying to get transferred to a bigger hospital. They are giving us a hard time doing that. They want me to go home in a wheelchair and don’t want to fix anything that’s wrong. They’re keeping my blood pressure at stroke level even though I explained to them that I had a stroke in April 2025. I don’t have normal high blood pressure; it’s a medicine they’re giving me to keep it that high. Now they’ve taken all my pain meds and are only giving Tylenol, which is not doing a thing. But they need me in severe pain for the blood pressure to stay high. They said they are doing this so my heart will work overtime and the blood will go fast. I’m so scared I’m gonna have another stroke. Please help us get to Charleston so I can get proper care. My heart is hurting, my chest is hurting. We need funds to get to Charleston to go to MUSC where I can get the proper care I need. If anybody can help, that would be a true blessing. Thank you.
