I’m raising funds to 1) pay medical debt to avoid wage garnishment. 2) bring my checking account above $0. 3) update my driver’s license to have my correct name and gender marker.

In December of 2023, after a nearly two long battle for independence from financial abuse, I declared bankruptcy. I’m still to this day making payments to the attorney who worked my case. In January of 2024, I had Covid-19. I ended up with missed wages and nearly $700 in clinic bills for testing, video appointments, and prescriptions. I lost my job in February of 2024 and did not find full time employment again until August of 2024. These bills have gone unpaid and are now in the hands of a collections agency that has filed a small claims court case against me for the unpaid debt.

There’s no way that I can pay this debt, as I struggle between paychecks to keep my bank account out of the negative. I’m currently driving my truck on a spare tire because I don’t have the excess income to afford a repair. Every month I borrow - pay back - borrow again from the same few cash advance apps. I don’t see a way out of this financial hole that I’ve been in since March of 2022 when I left my ex, who I was financially dependent on as someone who made 3x my income. I desperately need help getting out of this pit. I work over 40 hours a week for a good wage and I still can’t overcome the constant negative bank account balances and late payments.

I’m in the insurance approval process for top surgery right now, and that’s going to bring on an entire new wave of medical debt that I just can’t fathom right now on top of this… That’s a different story and will eventually be another fundraiser… Thank you for your time and helping me get out of this rut that I’ve been stuck in for Three Years.
