11 Blind Climbers. One Mountain. A World Record in the Making.

What if the only thing standing between someone and greatness… was the world’s doubt?

On October 7, 2025, at 6:00 a.m., 11 courageous blind climbers will begin their final ascent to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. If successful, they will set a world record as the largest group of blind individuals to summit Kilimanjaro together—proving to the world that disability is not inability.

The Journey

Climbing Africa’s highest peak—Uhuru Peak, 19,341 ft / 5895 m—is no easy feat for anyone. But this group of climbers, hailing from across North America, is doing it without sight. They’re taking on the Lemosho Route, a grueling, high-altitude path that requires strength, resilience, and trust.

This is not just a climb--this is a movement. Be Part of the Story

All 11 climbers are self-funding their expedition. Now, they need your help to fund the documentary which will have the potential to inspire millions. VISION* is raising funds to cover the cost of a professional documentarian to join them on their world record attempt. Imagine capturing the triumph as it happens, being there as they struggle through the difficult moments, and being able to present the unbreakable spirit behind it all. The final product? A 40-minute professionally produced narrated documentary, taking the story from the mountain to the people, showcasing what’s possible when vision goes beyond sight.

This climbing documentary is being sponsored through VISION, a U.S. nonprofit dedicated to enhancing the lives of individuals who are blind or visually impaired through fitness and sailing initiatives. Helping to fund this documentary about how blind climbers overcome their adversities, VISION wants to demonstrate that boundaries only exist to be broken.

The goal is to raise at least $12,000 to fund the documentary. Your support will help. Donations to VISION supporting this effort will cover the costs to:
• have a professional filmmaker join the climb.
• Document the journey and produce the documentary for people all around the world who will learn from the 11 brave blind mountaineers how to summit the tallest peak in Africa, blind style.
• Share the documentary to people all around the world so that all may be inspired to pursue their highest dreams

If the fundraising effort generates more than $12,000, the goal will be to have the documentarian increase the accessibility of the documentary (e.g., possibly incorporating audio description for blind viewers, adding closed captioning for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing), and look into donating blindness-oriented equipment to a blind school near Kilimanjaro.

You Can Be Part of This World Record.

Your donation will help the world see what these climbers already know: Courage has no limits. And neither does potential.

Because on October 7, history will be made—and you can be part of it!

No Sight. No Limits. Just the Summit.
