Thank you for visiting our Go Fund Me page to learn more about this cause! The Pet Rescue Club is a new organization at Purdue University that is open to new members. The club co-founders, (Dannie Mae Mendoza, Taylor Perry, Samantha Roque, and Irene Moore), have been working diligently since Spring '25 to bring this club to life. The co-founders are all strong animal advocates that have fought for shelter pets for a large majority of their lives. This specific Go Fund Me will be for club related expenses. Since this past Spring semester at Purdue, the co-founders have been paying out of pocket for all start up fees and materials. Now that we are gaining members and getting closer to our events, we are in need of funding to help this club really take off and be a benefit to the community of Purdue and the West Lafayette-Lafayette area. One day, we hope to be able to help even more shelters across Indiana, and possibly the US! The money raised through this Go Fund Me will go towards things we need as a club, such as:
- Large Enclosure for Cats (for fundraisers where students on campus would pay a small fee to be able to pet different shelter cats and learn about the different adoptable cats and kittens. If we are able to fully fund the Cat Enclosure before the event, then all proceeds will be able to go to shelters in the form of monetary donations or item donations).
- Collapsable water bowls (at these fundraisers, the pets will need access to water. Transporting things across campus can be difficult, because there is only so much you can carry. The collapsable water bowls can fit easily into backpacks or other bags, so they would be great for this club).
- (Collapsable) Wagon (as previously mentioned, it is difficult to transport things across campus. Most of the time you can only transport what fits in your hands and backpack. With the volume of things that we will need at events, a wagon would be a perfect thing to assist in transportation. A collapsable wagon would be even better for those of us who do not have trucks and have limited storage space).
- Foldable Lawn Chairs (While some of us may have our own lawn chair, most college students don't have one readily available and college life gets expensive. Having some extra foldable lawn chairs that the club owns would be a great way to allow more members to have a place to sit during fundraisers and events).
- There will be other things that we discover that we need as a club. However, this is a good list to help you get an idea of the things we will be buying with your generous donations.
