Hello Lovely People!
The first time I saw Maebel, was when he was being interviewed by Comedian and Host, Eshetu on a Youtube Channel called Donkey Tube on February 29th, 2024. As a young man continuing his education, Maebel was working as a mini van public transportation
driver. In 2013, while driving, the tires exploded and the car flipped over three times with 13 passengers inside. Maebel was the only person who was injured.
They rushed him to the nearest hospital, the doctor took x-rays and realized the severity of Maebel’s condition. The doctor couldn’t treat him. Instead, he recommended that he would be better treated at another hospital. They drove him to the next hospital. The doctor there noticed that there were three broken bones in his spine and his body could no longer uphold his neck. The doctor told his parents he would be paralyzed for the rest of his life and told Maebel’s family not to waste their money because he wouldn’t survive.
Even though Maebel’s family was so discouraged and hurt by what the doctor said. They insisted the doctor to go through the procedure anyway, which was surgery. After the surgery was completed, the doctor said he would be in a coma for 3 to 4months.
Maebel woke up before he was expected to, but remained in the hospital for 17 days, went home and continued physiotherapy treatments. Seven years later, after improving his condition, he decided to go to his family’s home to visit them and celebrate his birthday.
In 2020, while he was preparing to celebrate his birthday, when the unthinkable happened to his family's home. Rocks were being thrown at their home, people were shouting, and eventually their home was set on fire with benzyl fluid. His family panicked and ran from one room to another. Finally, they all entered one room and locked themselves there.
The people responsible for the fire, forced Maebel and his family to come out. Maebel and his family were beaten badly. They through Maebel to the ground, kicked him multiple times in the back and neck, aggravating his wound and making it worse, slowing down any chance of recovery. This was another dark day for Maebel.
By the grace of God, Maebel and his family survived the brutal attack. They chose to forgive the people responsible for the attempted annihilation.
Despite, the horrific events, Maebel is choosing to move on and pursue his dream. He appreciates being alive and what he’s able to do from now on. He uses his cell phone and one finger to write books, scripts, poems, songs, articles, and more.
After all, it’s not about what you’ve lost, it’s about what you have left.
Immediately, I was touched by Maebel’s story and how he expressed God’s love and kindness. He is waiting patiently for God’s miracles to shine on him. Aside from his strength in his faith, I admired his vision, desire, and willingness to help others and make a difference in society at large.
I was fascinated by his commitment to helping others. It was incredible and impossible to ignore. When you support Maebel today, it is going to ignite and give hope to those who are waiting for miracles too. I’d like to thank you in advance for your time and generosity.
Now, let’s help Maebel and his family stay resilient and optimistic for their future, especially Maebel, who is determined, persistent, courageous, inspirational, refuses to quit and a profound young man of excellence.
