My little sister, Journey, is one of the strongest and bravest people I know. She has faced challenges that most of us can’t imagine, and despite it all, she continues to fight for her healing every single day.
One thing that has helped her tremendously is animal therapy. Journey has participated in horse therapy, and the calm, comfort, and healing connection she’s experienced with animals has been life-changing. A service dog would build on that same foundation — giving her daily support, companionship, and the confidence to live more independently.
But living with PTSD is incredibly hard. Nightmares, panic attacks, and overwhelming anxiety make daily life feel like a battle. For Journey, a service dog isn’t just a dream — it’s a lifeline.
A PTSD-trained service dog can:
• Provide grounding during panic attacks and flashbacks
• Interrupt nightmares and help her feel safe while sleeping
• Offer constant companionship and reassurance in public places
• Give her the confidence and independence to rebuild her life.
• The dog will also offer constant companionship and reassurance in public places, giving Journey the confidence and independence she needs to rebuild her life.
Now, Journey is ready to take the next step in her recovery by welcoming a PTSD-trained service dog into her life. We’re working with a breeder and a PTSD service dog trainer in Charlotte, NC.
The challenge is that the costs of obtaining and training a service dog are far beyond what our family can manage alone. That’s why we’re reaching out and asking for help.
Here’s where your donations will go:
• Dog cost: $ 2,500
• Service dog training program:$6,995
• Veterinary care & vaccinations: $1,000
Every donation, no matter the size, brings Journey one step closer to this life-changing support. Even if you’re unable to give, sharing this page with friends, family, or on social media makes an incredible difference.
Journey has carried so much on her own for years. With your help, she can finally move forward with hope, independence, and the healing she deserves.
Thank you for taking the time to read her story, for donating if you’re able, and for helping us make this possible. Your kindness means more than words can express.
