My name is James Wehner, but I go by Jimmy. I'm 61 in August. I am divorced with 3 fabulous children and soon to be 9 grandkids. I have a Chiweenie named Dallas, after my Dallas Cowboys
Yep, total super fan! My health started declining at age 42. I had a massive stroke that left me paralyzed on my left side. Total life-changing. I had to learn the simplest daily tasks over again. For such an independent man, it was all humbling. But still, I fought demons and was close to giving up. One morning, I woke up early around 4 am, turned on the TV to hear a preacher speaking of hope and redemption, and I knew he was speaking to me. That's when I realized it was Sunday, and that Sunday I got a new perspective on what was happening to me. At age 53, I had a massive heart attack that came with a severe staph infection that caused me to lose my big toe and a large portion of my other foot. Then, 4 years later, I was diagnosed with stage 5 kidney disease. My kidney disease had caused total kidney failure, and then I became dependent on dialysis 3 times a week to keep me alive. Last year, I slipped into a coma for 14 days, and it looked grim for me once again. BUT GOD had other plans for me. I'm looking for my purpose, and until I find it, I will always give Him praise.
Of course, after the stroke, no work, and living on a total fixed income, it was an adjustment but manageable. But now, my income has remained the same while inflation has caused everything to go up, making my few dollars a month worth less and less. I need a portable oxygen machine so I can keep being as independent as possible. My insurance does not cover this because I'm not totally oxygen-dependent yet, but this machine will give me the independence to live my life and not have to be confined to a bed all day. So I'm asking if you can help with anything, I would be most grateful.
Thank you for your kindness
