Help Us Feed Hope: Fountain Community Enrichment Warehouse Campaign

Every bag of food represents hope, dignity, and relief for someone in need.

For thirteen years, Fountain Community Enrichment has been a lifeline for families in Prince George’s County, Maryland. Through rain, snow, and even a global pandemic, we’ve never missed a single scheduled food distribution. We’ve served with one mission: to ensure that no family in our community goes hungry.

Our Story

Since our founding, we have been blessed to serve:

• Over 250,000 individuals

• More than 95,500 families

• Countless bags of hope delivered every week

When COVID-19 shut down communities across the nation, we stayed open. As one of only four food distribution pantries in the entire Prince George’s County that remained operational throughout the pandemic, we served every Friday for two and a half years—no matter the weather, no matter the challenge.

But our current limitations are holding us back. Without adequate freezer space, fresh donations often spoil before we can distribute them. Without our own trucks, we depend on unpredictable transportation schedules. And without proper warehouse storage, we can’t accept the volume of food our community desperately needs.

Why We Need Your Help Now

The need in our community continues to grow. More families are struggling to put food on the table. More children are going to bed hungry. More seniors are choosing between medication and meals.

But there’s another challenge we face: food waste. Despite our best efforts, we’ve had to turn away fresh food donations because we lack proper storage. Perishable items spoil before we can distribute them. Food that could feed families goes bad because we don’t have the equipment to preserve it.

To meet this ever-growing demand and ensure no food—and no opportunity to help—goes to waste, we are raising $150,000 to:

✓ Purchase a warehouse for proper food storage and distribution operations

✓ Install a commercial deep freezer and walk-in freezer to preserve perishable foods and prevent spoilage

✓ Acquire trailer trucks for efficient transportation of food from suppliers to our facility

✓ Dramatically reduce food waste while serving more families in need

• Accept more donations of fresh meats, dairy, produce, and frozen goods that we currently have to decline
