This is my daughter Emily and grandson Will. As many of you know, she was diagnosed with Stage 3 Colon Cancer in July of 2022. She underwent a total colectomy and ileostomy and found out she needed chemo due to finding cancer in her lymph nodes. During her first round of chemo, she was hospitalized for 2 weeks with a small bowel obstruction. She was out not even a week and got her second dose of chemo. This chemo placed her in the hospital for 5 months. During this time, she was in the ICU for over a month, coded multiple times, and was intubated for 14 days. In July of 2023, she had her rectum removed, in which they found a third type of colon cancer.

Fast forward to today. She has been struggling with her mental health. She has lost her long-term disability (which is also in the appeal phase) and has reapplied for Social Security. Despite everything she has been through, she has over $15,000 in medical bills with more to come. She is trying to stay in her home to continue to provide for her son Will. But despite having no income, she is in the process of trying to get government assistance, especially Medicaid. Her premiums and monthly copayments for medications are extremely high, and she is unable to keep up with the cost to make sure she stays healthy.

We are asking for assistance to help with her monthly bills and her medical bills.

Anyone that knows Emily knows she hates to ask for help and would do anything for anyone. Despite what she has been through, she continues to have faith in God and lives for the moment. Tomorrow is not promised. She is a true miracle.
