Hi! I’m Emily Spence, native Memphian and founder of Embody Memphis.

Embody Memphis began after a vision in 2022 hit me like a lightning bolt - my whole life had led up to this - the idea that I could hold space for others to become more themselves - and Embody Memphis was formed.

Existing without a physical space for the last 2.5 years and hosting embodied experiences for hundreds of people, I realized it was time to expand and set down roots and form a place for all Memphians - and humans from all over the world and all walks of life - to come home. To themselves. To their body. To their truth.

Embody Memphis is place where you can always find peace and belonging, no matter what’s happening outside these walls.

This space is currently open in the heart of Midtown Memphis and is available to be booked for workshops, retreats, and stays of all kinds.

Our public offerings will incorporate various modalities, focused on ceremony, breath work, sound healing, meditation, movement & body work.

An expansion dream is to feature a luxury sauna and cold plunge area that is unlike any other in Memphis, all while you’re encapsulated in a spa-like environment that is tailored to meet your needs at every turn.

In July 2025, I started looking for a home base for Embody Memphis - and found the perfect space right off Overton Square on Madison Ave. I have funded the space personally and taken on some debt in order to finish and open the space. I’d love your support in alleviating the debt I’ve taken on in order to continue evolving and expanding the space, including the renovation of the giant unfinished attic space so we can have a larger gathering space for our community.
