We're Lukas, Matt and Maddie, the three theatre-makers behind Out of Order Collective (@0o0.collective). Over the past couple of years, we've been producing plays, readings and writing workshops, featuring local artists from different media and disciplines. Yes, we're asking for money for our upcoming show!
Maddie (@madison_fargo) and Emi (@emigrate_drag) have been fans of each other's work for a while now, from drag/cabaret to playwriting/screenwriting. Emi has been our biggest supporter from the start!
This summer, we're coproducing a historic show, which YOU can help make legendary!
Simply titled "America 250," it explores Emi's 15-year American journey in the context of the US's 250. There's a 4-piece live band backing Emi, and joining them is a special guest who won't just be singing in drag but also playing an instrument of her own! The set ranges from showtunes to jazz standards, and from folk songs to Lana Del Rey for the gays. And everybody will be in denim and rhinestones!
This brings us to the expenses:
- 6 performers on stage (including the star)
- 3 people to run the show (backstage + floor + booth)
- 3-5 people for craft costumes, props and set dressing
- materials for costumes, props and set dressing
- 4-6 rehearsals over the course of 7 weeks
- marketing/promo (photos + video + printing + busking)
- archives (photos + videos + editing)
We're looking at an almost $3k operation overall. This is a drag show, therefore we have high hopes that tips will be generous. In order to make the math math, Emi has agreed to receive tips in advance, let's just say that!
As tokens of our appreciation:
- For contributions of $50 or more, you will have access to the photo and video archives from the show.
- For contributions of $100 or more, you will receive a poster of the show, beautifully designed by Emi herself, and signed by the band.
- For contributions of $250 or more, you will get a shoutout on the mic, on stage, and on our social media as a patron of the show.
