Hello!

First and foremost, thank you for taking a moment to read through the page. I'm Emily, and I'm raising funds on behalf of my close friend Jacklyn's family, whose mother, Ellen, was just involved in a very serious car crash.

Meet the Maffuccis -

Anyone who's from or familiar with the Northshore of Massachusetts knows how close-knit of a community this area is. We cheer for our teams the loudest, laugh until we're blue in the face with our friends, and keep family close regardless (or should I say 'regahhhdless') of what's going on. Well, the Maffuccis are a prime example of this. Deep New England roots, incredibly magnanimous, and always around to support anyone in need of help. Well, now it's our turn to step up and help them!

The Bad News -

While stopped on 495, Ellen's vehicle was struck at high speeds by a reckless driver. Her car was immediately crushed and ended up wedged between several other surrounding vehicles. The impact was devastating. Ellen is currently fighting for her life battling a serious brain bleed, numerous shattered bones in her body/face, and reliant on a breathing tube. The journey ahead is going to be arduous, frustrating, and long.

The Good News -

This is where we get to remind the world of the good in it. As we all know, the true 'cost' of an accident this bad is compounded. There's the mental anguish, the physical pain, and the financial burden of needing all this to recover. This kind of care and support is possible through platforms like this, where messages can go beyond geographical lines and resonate with others. The bills are already coming in and they're not going to stop, so anything that can be provided to ease the relentless pressure of staying on top of things and combating hospital expenses means everything to the family right now.

It goes without saying that this holiday season is going to be extremely difficult for the Maffuccis. What is normally a celebratory and exciting time is now filled with uncertainty. Whatever you can contribute to help bring back some of the hope and cheer will mean everything to my dear friend Jacklyn and her mother.
