Support for Ellen’s Cancer Treatment Journey

Hello, I’m Cory and I need your help in supporting my best friend, Ellen Hamaker. Ellen is my person. She has been my rock for the last 12 years and has seen me through terrible things and wonderful things. It’s time for me to help her get through some terrible things.

Ellen was diagnosed with stage four lung cancer six weeks ago, and she is entering the battle of her life. You see, it’s not just a battle for her, it’s a battle for her husband and her son. Ellen has been their rock and has seen her son Avery go through so much medically himself over the last several years. He is an adult child who requires daily home healthcare and the love of both of his parents. Ellen will be starting her journey with chemotherapy and immunotherapy this week. It is not only a scary time of what the unknown future holds, but it is also a very scary time financially.

The last several years have been tough on the Hamaker family. Ellen has not been able to work full-time most recently due to multiple doctor's appointments and declining health. Kory is the stay-at-home parent to assist Avery and has now become the full-time caregiver for Ellen and their son. It’s a lot for them all. This family has helped so many families in our community over the years, and she has literally saved my life more times than I can count. I am asking that anyone that can, please donate to this family in need during these future days of uncertainty and financial strain. Ellen is applying for disability to get her through these treatments, but it takes months and they don’t have months for their finances to support this family.
