Wanting to raise money to help our precious Elise in her battle with cancer.
Elise has been diagnosed with an aggressive cancer. (Pineal blastoma) She has already gone through three surgeries to remove the tumor that was in her brain. The first surgery was to help relieve the pressure of spinal fluid buildup in her brain. The second and most evasive surgery was to remove the tumor from her brain. The third surgery was to install a shunt that relieves the pressure of the fluid buildup by running the fluid to her stomach area. Elise and all of us are facing a challenging road ahead. Elise will begin Proton Radiation Therapy starting mid-January at CHOP in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The therapy will last 6 weeks. After a few weeks of recovery, Elise will begin Chemotherapy Treatment at Duke University Hospital for several months to fight this terrible disease. We will be with her every single step of the way for this journey. This journey will be long and very difficult, but we will make it through!
Most importantly we must pray. Pray for the therapy to work, pray that Elise can fight this. Anything right now during this time is much appreciated.
Money raised will be used for medical expenses, travel to and from Philadelphia and accommodations while traveling for therapy.
Any money raised that is unused, will be donated to a cancer research center to continue the search for a cure to this terrible disease and to help others like us who may be affected by cancer.
Let me start by saying wow! The support for our cause has been absolutely incredible. To each and everyone of you who have donated and supported our cause, We want to say thank you.
We will continue to update as progress is achieved.
Update on Elise’s progress. She finished her stay at Duke Hospital for now. Her Stem cell transplant went really well this week! She gets a couple of days off before she starts radiation treatments on Monday January 13th. She will undergo 30 treatments over the course of several weeks. The next journey begins…
Update #2.
Elise has made it through the first 2 weeks of proton radiation treatment and is doing well!
4 more weeks to go!
Another update!
Elise has finished her 30 radiation treatments at CHOP in Philadelphia!
She had a couple of minor hiccups along the way, otherwise she did amazing!
She is so incredibly tough and very resilient.
She ended up inspiring so many people going through the same things as her.
She remained strong and positive with a smile on her face. So proud of her.
Small break before Chemotherapy starts soon.
One step at a time.
