My husband Eli, the sole provider for our family of 6, has been hospitalized for pneumonia and a brain infection. This event almost claimed his life. He's had severe memory issues to the point of not knowing himself, ripping out IVs, and not knowing what's going on around him. The doctors thought he might die; however, my husband is a fighter and has fought to get back to us. While he is awake and his memory and cognitive skills are starting to return, he still has a long road of recovery ahead. He is weak and cannot sit up and have a meal in his hospital bed without falling asleep.
