Hi guys,
We are the Williams family of 4 and soon to be 5. My husband, Mark, and I have 2 fur babies, Eevee and Luna and I am about 25 weeks pregnant with our first baby. We have wanted to have a baby for a long time and have gone through IVF to get our little miracle. IVF was tough but we are now facing even tougher circumstances. We are reaching out to ask for help paying for vet bills that saved our sweet Eevee.
Eevee is a 4-year-old cavalier king Charles spaniel and she suddenly lost use of her back legs Sunday 7/21. She was paralyzed and in pain. We spent that evening and through the night taking her to various ERs trying to get her seen ASAP. The ER x-rayed her spine which was normal, so we were referred to our 3rd ER to be seen and get in with their neurology department. She had to get an MRI to find out what was causing the sudden paralysis but also to see if it is possible to treat her. The neurologist diagnosed her with T12-T13 Intervertebral Disc herniation (slipped disc pushing into spinal cord). Surgery was the next step to remove the slipped disc allowing her the best chances at being able to walk again and live a normal life. Eevee went into surgery the evening of 7/22 and did extremely well, the surgery went perfectly. The neurologist removed the bulging disc and told us she saw the spinal cord go back into place where it should be.
The next morning on 7/23 we received a phone call saying she had regressed from the surgery, and she needed to stay longer in the hospital. By that evening their update was that she had completely turned around, and she was like a different dog. Eevee finally perked up and started to eat, she could go home! It’s going to be a long road to recovery to fully walk again but she is such a strong brave girl.
We are asking for help to reach our $7,000 goal for vet bills. We know that times are tough for everyone right now so we don’t expect anything but just know any amount would help us so much! This money will go directly to paying off Eevee’s vet bills but it also ensures that we can continue to get proper care and provide for our baby due soon. We have been hearing from people that they would have just put their dog down but Eevee is a part of our family and we don't just abandon family when things get rough or too expensive.
Thank you so much,
Sarah and Mark Williams
