Hello family, friends and other village members. Please join us in supporting our beloved Edward Taylor. 74 year old father, grandfather, brother, friend and retired chef, Edward was diagnosed with heart disease (leaky heart) at the end of 2023. A medication called milrinone is now assisting with the beating of his heart and added 6 months to a year to his life. Unfortunately this temporary fix has carried us to month 8 of 12. Our Edward is in need of a life saving heart procedure called a LVAD (Left Ventricular Assist Device), which will assist the heart in beating and could add another 7 to 8 years to his life . Edward is a devoted Jehovah Witness and because of his love and pleasing of Jehovah, he’s unable to get a blood transfusion and needs a bloodless procedure. This procedure is only offered at the University of Chicago. The majority of the cost of the procedure is met by insurance however a deduction is on Edward. Because he is on a fixed income, the cost is too much for him to bear. Edward is currently an inpatient at Union Memorial Hospital where he has been for the last 4 weeks. He has been transferred from Union Memorial Hospital to the University of Chicago by Medical Air Ambulance equipped with a paramedic and nurse. Aftercare costs are needed and gratefully appreciated. Our Edward has more life to live so with love and gratitude, we are humbly asking for any financial contribution that you can offer towards Edward’s journey to more quality of life here among us.
