Help Ease Tomeka's Final Journey
Donation protected
In June 2024, Tomeka was diagnosed with Stage 4 Metastatic Pancreatic Cancer and faced this challenge head-on. She rallied the strength to endure five rounds of chemotherapy, which afforded her more time to be with her family and friends. In early September, Tomeka was able to go on a retreat to St. Louis with her husband and two young children; however, shortly after that, her health began to progressively decline. She ended up hospitalized, where it was determined that the cancer had spread to her brain, resulting in the progressive loss of cognitive and motor functions. As a result, the difficult decision was made to put her into hospice care in the best interests of her and her family.
Therefore, we (Tomeka's family) are reaching out to our community and beyond to request support in this time of need. Tomeka is not only a wonderful wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend... she is joy personified. She is the kind of soul that is able to radiate a beautiful light to all those who are blessed to come across her path. She is always willing to extend the hand of kindness and friendship even to the most troubled soul. With a contagious laugh that is able to melt even the coolest of hearts, and a smile that brightens the darkest of days while uplifting all those around her. Even though she's a fighter, she never fooled herself into thinking that this battle would be easily fought. While her body may be deteriorating, her spirit continues to fight relentlessly.
As her family, we are praying that God's will be done, whilst hoping for a miracle. After all, Tomeka is only 48 years old and in passing, she will leave behind her wonderful husband and two beautiful children. Hence, while we are hopeful, we recognize the magnitude of this difficult yet painful situation. The doctors have given her days or perhaps weeks to live, but only God knows the end of our days.
Because of this, we are asking for any contributions, no matter the amount, to help cover any medical expenses that have and will recur as Tomeka continues to fight. This will help to alleviate the financial stress placed upon her loved ones as they prepare their hearts and minds for what will happen in the next few weeks.
We humbly ask that everyone reading this would consider donating and sharing her story with everyone they know. We thank you for all of the positive thoughts, prayers, well wishes, and support, but most of all, your generosity in this time of need.
May God bless you and keep you. Thank you.
