Hi everyone,
I’m reaching out today with a heavy heart to ask for a little help for someone very special to me — my dear friend Tom Meyer. Tom is currently going through a serious medical emergency that none of us saw coming, and it’s turned his world completely upside down.
If you know Tom, you know he’s the kind of person who’s always there when you need him — offering a kind word, a laugh when you need it most, or showing up just because that’s the kind of friend he is. Now, he’s the one who could use a little help from all of us.
Within the last three months, Tom’s recovery took a heartbreaking turn. An accident completely out of his control landed him back in the hospital with 3 broken vertebrae and in rehab, compounding the challenges he was already facing. It’s been a grueling and emotional journey for him, made even harder by being unable to work and provide for himself. What’s been especially painful is that he’s had to endure all of this without the constant comfort of his beloved dog, Michael, who has always been his faithful companion.
The medical bills are already overwhelming, and on top of that, there are travel costs, daily expenses, and the mounting emotional weight of trying to piece his life back together while fighting to heal. He’s spent much of this time in a wheelchair, unable to drive, stripped of his independence, and having to rely on others for even the simplest daily needs — a difficult adjustment for someone as strong and self-reliant as Tom.
We’ve started this GoFundMe to raise $18,000 to help cover Tom’s medical expenses and ease some of the financial burdens so he can focus on what matters most — reclaiming his health and his peace of mind.
Anything you can give would mean the world, whether it’s $20, $50, or just sharing this link with others. And if you could keep Tom in your thoughts, hold him in your heart, and send some love his way, we’d be forever grateful.
Thank you for your kindness, compassion, and support. Let’s lift Tom up like we know he would for any one of us.
With love,
Michele Sonnier
