Donate to Ease the Higelmire Family's Burden

Donation protected
My name is Kelly Ballor and I have known the Higelmire Family for years! September 29th Dave and Mel’s youngest son, Clayton was in a terrible car accident. Clayton is still in ICU and fighting for his life. He initially woke up and was going to be released to Mary Free-Bed Rehab Center when the unthinkable happened and he had an allergic reaction to radioactive die for a test he may not have needed. Unfortunately, Clayton arrested and was resuscitated. He has recently been reported as brain dead and deceased but Clayton is still alive and breathing on his own. Due to all of the in’s and out’s, Mel has not worked since the accident as she sits with Clayton daily and Dave and Thomas have been there as much as possible and taking over night shifts. Due to stress and inconsistent answers the immediate family is not getting, Dave can no longer function at work without knowing what is going on with their baby. I am asking that everyone pass this along so we can raise as much to help with their monthly bills and anything beyond should Clayton pass. Please follow for current updates from Clayton’s parents and brother as we receive them. If you have ever visited Speedway in Eaton Rapids in the morning, 9 chances out of 10, you have encountered Melanie Higelmire. She is the most well known employee there and cared for many of us and our families through the years. Let’s give back to her and ease the stress of a parent fighting for their child’s life and donate what we can.

Thank you,

Kelly
