The reality is wheelchair vans are even more expensive than they were when I bought mine only two and a half years ago. We had $26k paid off, but we still owed over $10k. My health isn't getting any better. Medical expenses are building up. I wasn't prepared to be out of work. I wasn't prepared for all the extra expenses that came with the wreck. Anything anyone wants to contribute would be a huge help! We got 12k from auto insurance, we still have 16k to go. My credit card bill from all of this is stressing me out.
I have $240 in medical bills from all the withdrawal adjustments and ER visits. The pump surgery is $200. The spinal surgery will be another $200 at least. I'm not sure the cost of the rehab. The costs are building up.
I've looked at programs, but they want you to buy a vehicle with less than 30k miles, and it has to have a wheelchair ramp on it that is still within warranty. Those requirements make the vehicle much more than I'm sure I can work long enough to afford.
I really hate to ask for help and yet here I am. How is this my life?
