Hello everyone,
A few months ago, my dad, Ted, was diagnosed with HPV throat cancer. Not many people know that HPV can sit dormant in your body for years and years before it flares up and starts attacking your body. That’s what happened here. He’s recently started chemo and radiation treatments in Casper. But, we live in Greybull, which is 3 1/2 hours away. We’ve been having to drive him back and forth to Casper twice a week and stay in motels while we are there. We found a couple of programs that help pay for some expenses but not much. He is unable to work at the time because of his treatment 5 days a week and just overall doesn’t feel the greatest, which is to be expected. But because of this, he has little to no income coming in and starting next week he will be having to pay for his own motel rooms and gas while we are in Casper. The cancer center set us up with a couple of different programs for us to have some of it paid for but that only goes so far. He still has his home bills to pay and now the added expense for motels, gas, and food while we are out of town is putting quite a bit of strain on his mental health. Anything would be appreciated while he takes this time to heal and focus on his health.
