First, we want to thank you for taking the time to read this story. My name is Suzanne. My sister Danielle mentioned wanting to be able to help one of her best friends since childhood, Talli, but knowing alone she could not help her enough she wanted to reach out to a community in support of her friend. With both Danielle and Talli’s blessing I created this page.
Talli Onesti-Neff was diagnosed with ALS in February 2017. Which is when I found out that ALS does not discriminate in age because she at the time was only in her late 30’s with 2 young children in elementary school. Since she shared her diagnosis I’ve come to learn that ALS is like a hurricane. Until you’ve seen the damage and pain, unless you witness its power it’s just a name. Witnessing it will undoubtedly change your life profoundly.
If you know anything about ALS you know that her 8 year and counting battle exceeds the life expectancy of this diagnosis. But ALS never met a stronger opponent. Her determination to be a mother to her children and strength are something that I am in awe of, Talli is the strongest person I have ever known. She has an amazing support group in her family who have been amazing in their love and support for her and some childhood friends like my sister who would do anything to help out any way she could. But as you can imagine the progression of ALS brings many complications. Affecting her hands, walking and speech. Talli is a single mom, her children are now teenagers and have grown into amazing human beings. They have shared in taking over the caregiver role for their mother and they do it lovingly without complaint. With the cost of living being so high and then adding on any medical expenses the money coming in doesn’t come close to what is needed. Any donation will assist with their everyday needs but also be put towards a chair lift, an adjustable bed and physical and occupational equipment to aid in the children being able to care for their mother a little easier than without them.
Talli and her entire family have already wanted to express their gratitude in advance for anything you are able to give. She would never ask for it for herself but is so grateful and a little relieved something will be coming to help them.
on behalf of my sister and I, every single dollar helps! We understand like is hard and expensive and just genuinely appreciate any amount you have to share for the most deserving woman on the planet. From the bottom of our hearts thank you!!! We hope that life brings you people who love and support you and that you never forget to find the blessing in each day.
