Hi, we’re Nicole (aka Nique) and Tina—Susan’s adult children—and we’re reaching out to ask for your help and support.
Our amazing mom, Susan, has been living with Chronic Kidney Failure Disease since 2018. Recently, she had a fistula placed in her right arm to begin dialysis treatment, which could start anytime in the upcoming weeks to 6 months. This step is critical to her care, and while she’s preparing physically, she’s also preparing emotionally for what lies ahead.
On July 7th, we joined her for a full day of medical appointments. We discussed what it means to be on the transplant list and also discussed a healthcare directive—a step we encourage everyone to consider.
This journey is filled with hope, but also unexpected expenses. While Susan has medical insurance, co-pays and out-of-pocket costs—especially for dialysis and transplant-related care—fall heavily on her limited income as a retiree. Any contribution, large or small, would ease her path and help cover critical treatments that insurance doesn’t fully support.
We’re deeply grateful for your time, kindness, and generosity. Whether you donate, share Susan’s story, or simply send positive thoughts her way—you’re part of this journey with us.
Thank you so much for being here.
—Nique and Tina
