A few months ago, we welcomed Sonia into our lives as our cleaning lady -but in such a short time, she’s become like family to us. Sonia is one of the kindest, most hardworking women you could ever meet, and she lights up every room she walks into.

Just two weeks ago, Sonia’s life changed forever. Her husband, who had been sick for some time, tragically passed away. Sonia is now navigating life without the man she built her world around. At 57 years old, she suddenly finds herself learning how to be independent for the first time, all while grieving the love of her life.

Right now, Sonia is struggling in the apartment she shared with her husband. Every corner is a painful reminder of what she’s lost, and she knows she needs a fresh start. She dreams of moving into a smaller, more affordable place where she can begin healing and rebuilding her life. Unfortunately, her budget of $1,000 for rent isn’t realistic in today’s market, and the stress of finances is weighing heavily on her during this already heartbreaking time. Without a two income household, she worries if she can make it without her husband.

We want to come together to ease that burden for her. Our goal is to raise enough money so Sonia can comfortably find a new home without the added pressure of financial strain while she grieves and starts over.
