What started as a suspected migraine turned into an apple sized brain bleed. When you are 46 you do not think this can happen to you, or your loved one, however, this is exactly what happened to Season and her husband Steven on the weekend of August 9th. Steven’s headache turned out to be from blood pressure levels exceeding typical human survival. This resulted in an extreme medical emergency requiring emergency brain surgery to relieve pressure from an 8cm x 3cm hemorrhagic stroke. For Steven, today marks 10 days in an ICU. 10 days unresponsive, 10 days of mechanical support sustaining his life, 10 days of not being able to look at or hold his wife Season, and for Season she feels as if she is living her worst nightmare. Next Tuesday will be Steven and Season’s 18th year anniversary. It wasn’t supposed to be under these circumstances; it should be a joyous occasion.

Anyone who is a helper at heart knows there is absolutely nothing they can do to physically relieve any of the heartbreak Season is experiencing during this time of her life. We can, however, help lift the burden of the typical day to day worries, the worries of how will rent be paid, how to keep utilities on, how to care for the loved ones who still depend on her. The small efforts of a great community who is surrounding Season with love and prayers can be what help lift this additional burden. This can allow Season to be able to focus on what is most important during this time and that is being by Steven’s side, the same place she has been for the last 10 days. Please help us help this precious lady who so often is helping others without regard to her own needs. Season will not ask for help, but we as her work family can intercede on her behalf and rally the troops of our loving community to help in this time of crisis.
