My sister Sam was recently diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma, a form of breast cancer, she received the diagnosis just days before her 30th birthday. She is now navigating the long and scary road ahead.
Sam will have many mountains to climb during her treatment, which will include surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation. The chemotherapy will cause her to lose her hair and also will keep her out of work a couple of days a week due to the side effects caused by the chemotherapy. We are asking for money to allow Sam and Ben to do IVF since this treatment will likely leave Sam infertile. Unfortunately insurance doesn’t cover IVF so it will all have to be out of pocket . She will also need money to supplement for the days she will need Ben home to help her. As we all know, healthcare is expensive, and the bills are already piling up for co-pays and out-of-pocket expenses, even though she does have health insurance.
Every bit helps and is greatly appreciated. No one likes to ask for help, but I’m hoping that we can at least ease a bit of the stress that is caused by such a devastating diagnosis at such a young age. Hopefully we can allow Sam and Ben to plan for a future child ❤️.
