Dear Friends,

This is not an easy step for me, but I’m reaching out to those close to me because I find myself in a very difficult financial situation. I am hoping to raise $17,000 to help pay off outstanding debts and regain stability.

For those who may not know me as well, I am a long-time member of Temple HBT. Over the years, I’ve been honored to hold leadership positions, including serving as the first Lesbian President in the temple’s history—a true rainbow blessing! Some of you may also remember “Being Jewish is Fun.”

Currently, I serve as the Chair of the Bitachon (Security) Team. This past summer, I had the privilege of attending services through the lens of security. I monitor the cameras, buzz attendees into Shabbat services, and help ensure a safe and welcoming environment. I also assist with monitoring Zoom for virtual Shabbat services, allowing even more people to participate in our beautiful community.

Temple HBT has been a lifeline for me, and I am deeply grateful for the kindness and connection I’ve experienced within this amazing community.

I am currently facing significant challenges. Long-term health issues—including severe nerve damage affecting 70% of my body, diabetes, asthma, and severe bone problems—have greatly impacted my ability to work consistantly. While I’m fortunate to work as a Security Guard at New England Conservatory, my income is not enough to cover my expenses, especially with skyrocketing housing costs.

I am on a waitlist for public housing and getting closer to securing an apartment, but to move forward, I need to clear past financial debts. My family has helped tremendously, but it’s not enough, so I am humbly turning to my community for support.
