Donate to Ease Roberta Vaughan's Family's Medical Burden

I have updated the story of this GoFundMe to reflect the current state of...everything.

This fundraiser was originally meant to raise funds for one the of the greatest friends Adventure Gaming has ever had, and probably will ever have, Roberta Vaughan. She was a guiding light in the Adventure Game Community. She was constantly demonstrating, to all of us in the Community and to her wider circle of family and friends, her extraordinarty generosity, her kindness, her talent and her energy. She tirelessly promoted projects, people, and partnerships. She was an industry professional with an impressive resume. She had a way of getting people together, for fun, for game development, for conventions, everything. And she was particularly into FMV, and was working on a movable Museum of all games FMV-related. (This Museum has been undertaken by some of her great friends in the gaming world, and they are devoted to making it real and unveiling it in the near future.)

Roberta has now left this Earth. But true to the end, BEYOND the end in fact, she donated her organs so that others may life and prosper. It is likely that the recipients of these gifts may never know her for the true jewel she was, and more's the pity. Many others may live and thrive now, thanks to her endless generosity. Roberta could never help but think of others, all the time, even people she didn't know.

For her family's privacy's, we will not be discussing the details of her illness, save to say that she was stricken by a series of heart attacks and went into a coma, from which she never emerged. She was tremendously young to be so afflicted. She had so much life left to live.

We now need to repay some of the kindness and love she has shown to so many of us, from strangers to friends to family. over the years. Even if you never met Roberta, please give, even a token amount will help! If you ever loved a Sierra game (in particular the Quest for Glory series, her favorite, and the Laura Bow series, her probable second favorite), you might consider giving in honor of Sierra games and her amazing devotion to them.

Hey, she also loved Lucasfilm games, too! Figure them into your equation!

This GoFundMe lost some momentum; we had to temporarily pause donations while we figured some things out behind the scenes, and tried to separate rumor from truth. Truly, ANY donations will help, no matter how small. The family has enormous bills to contend with.
