Hey Everyone. My name is Johna, I'm Mandi's sister. As a lot of you know, my sister was diagnosed with breast cancer shortly after Christmas. This has come as quite a surprise to all of us. This last month has been filled with a lot of fear, anxiety, and uncertainty in terms of what her treatment will look like. At this time, what we do know is that she will have a double mastectomy. Future surgeries are likely going to be necessary, and it's still unclear if she will require chemotherapy or any radiation. Unfortunately, my sister's husband, Jim, was also diagnosed with cancer in 2024, which he underwent radiation for over last summer. The radiation treatments have left Jim with some chronic medical conditions that he is still dealing with.

If you're familiar at all with the cost of healthcare, even with insurance, you know that battling two cancer diagnoses within a year is incredibly expensive. Between deductibles, copayments, pharmacy runs, and lost wages, the bills stack up fast. Just since Christmas, my sister has had her biopsies, an ultrasound, an MRI, another ultrasound, and multiple doctor's appointments. All the while, Jim has had multiple appointments and had to travel between Odessa and Fort Worth for continued treatments for his ongoing health issues from his own cancer diagnosis.

I'm starting this GoFundMe to take some of the financial burden off of Jim & Mandi's plate so that they can focus their energy on beating cancer and raising their kids. I understand times are hard for so many of us right now but if you're able to donate anything at all, our family would be forever thankful!
