Donate to Ease Lucas and Sierra's Medical Burden

My name is Kyle Blalock and I am creating this fund raiser for a friend who is not on social media. I met Lucas last year when I started working for the White Mountain Community Center as an LGBTQIA+ outreach coordinator. Lucas is a trans man who has supported me through nearly every meeting. He has also volunteered with onenten for two years and helped me to get my other coordinator position with them. I don't know if I could have continued my outreach and community work if he hadn't been in my corner this entire time.

With that said, he is going in for surgery on his spine this month. He suffers from debilitating nerve pain and is getting an implant to help silence the nerves. In October his dog-child Sierra is going in for surgery on her torn acl. Luckily Lucas has pet insurance and a friend who is willing to put the copay and deductible on their credit card. This new veterinarian office is in Phoenix. We drove down there last Friday where she was diagnosed with the torn acl, which was previously, incorrectly, diagnosed as arthritis.

Lucas will need to rent a car twice to travel from Show Low to Mesa for veterinary care for Sierra. He is on a fixed income due to his back putting him on disability. I would like to help him raise funds so that this chaotic fall isn't as hard as its looking for him. He is pretty much my only friend that I hang out with and I want to help however I can.

I'm looking to raise $900 to help cover car rentals, copay, and deductible for Sierra's surgery.

If you have a trans friend or relative, you know how difficult it can be to socialize and reach out to the community. Lucas doesn't have social media and I didn't want him to have to create a Facebook or fundraising campaign as I see the value in not being on social media, especially in our local community. Lucas is selling some of his things to help raise the extra money he needs; his hot tub, fixing his moped to sell.

Anything helps. Sierra means the world to Lucas. She is the reason he has to wake up. She is seven years old with many more ahead. I f I can help make this fall a little less stressful for Lucas, with his and Sierras surgery, it would make my year. Thank You!
