Donate to Ease Laura and Shaun's Journey

In 2020, Laura and Shaun were getting ready for their wedding. We all know why it didn't happen until 2021. Just before their wedding, Laura found out that she had cancer. They got married and focused on getting Laura through surgeries and treatments. Three years later, they have endured countless surgeries, procedures, and treatments dealing with a cancer reoccurrence. Laura and Shaun have been through what most with cancer understand and what Shaun describes as "life with cancer". This is not a simple diagnosis, sometimes treatments and procedures are more of a battle than the cancer itself.

When Laura's cancer came back, they pushed her to Sloan Kettering in NY for the best care. This required many stays in NY. Sometimes multiple times a week. Hotels and travel expenses have really added up the past few years. For a while, they even had to get a rental car to drive up to NY. We don't know how many more treatments and procedures that Laura will need. Sometimes we don't think about the extra costs of caring for someone with or living with an aggressive disease.

Laura and Shaun have always wanted a family as well. Obviously, this is a fertility issue now and they had to freeze embryos. This wasn't all covered by insurance. They will have to decide on the next step when they feel the time is right, but procedures continue to further complicate the issue. They won't let this battle stop their dreams though.

Life has been a struggle for the past three years but they are some of the strongest people we know. Laura has gone through each surgery or procedure with strength and determination. They never complain and continue to push on. My goal is to raise money to help Laura and Shaun with the "extra costs". Any small amount donated could help them with the small stuff such as groceries, cleaners, travel expenses for procedures or even with larger debts. They shouldn't have to worry about the little things on her road to recovery.
