Donate to Ease Kimby's Healing Journey

Hello, everyone,

As some of you may know, Kimby recently had her Gallbladder removed and a hernia repaired, followed by a slew of additional complications. When they were in the surgery to remove her Gallbladder on Thursday, Nov. 14th, they found swelling in her Duodenum as well as stones in her Pancreatic Duct. They had to do in with a second procedure to remove the stones and place a stent to help with the inflammation. Since then, she has been battling an infection, pain from the surgery, and general pain all over. She has had a few minor adverse reactions to the medication, and is rather inconsistent when it comes to vitals and labs for now. As of today (11/25) she is getting her nutrients through a PICC line feeding tube, has a fever on and off, and they are projecting she'll stay in the hospital for another week.

She will get better but while her body works to get strong again she is unable to work. Kimby only planned to be out for two weeks to recover, and this is looking like it will be a much longer recover than we had planned for. Kimby and her husband, Ron, are both self-employed so their time away from work has a serious financial impact. They have insurance which has a very high deductible and out-of-pocket cost. The medical bills they are accruing after several days in the hospital and a multitude of tests and procedures will be huge in addition to the time off work for Kimby and Ron both. Any gift you can offer will go to these medical bills and the living expenses to stay afloat while Kimby recovers. If Ron and Kimby know these bills will be manageable that will help ease the burden of this unforeseen situation and give Kimby the peace of mind to stay home and heal for a few weeks once she is released from the hospital.

Thanks so much for your support. The messages and love we have all gotten over the past few days have been so helpful and necessary for her healing. If you know Kimby, I am sure you know what a strong-willed, caring and dedicated person she is. She is in need of moral boosts. Any donations are welcome; financial, teddy bears, warm blankets, quality time, a kind card, etc. Please consider donating to support such a great human during this stressful time. If you need help coordinating a visit or donation please reach out to her Daughters, Jade and Maraya. Kimby is only minimally responsive to texts and calls at this time.

We appreciate our tribe!
